Cherry Tree Learning Centre (CTLC) is an Alternative Provision Academy and is part of The Skylark Partnership Trust. CTLC provides educational support for children and young people with complex medical and/or mental health needs which prevent them from attending school full time.
The Skylark Partnership Trust, our staff, and I are all proud to introduce you to Cherry Tree Learning Centre. At Cherry Tree, we provide an education for pupils in the Borough of Dudley who are unable to attend a mainstream school due to their medical or mental health needs.
We work with pupils at Russells Hall Hospital, in the home, and also in our short stay school. Staff are highly qualified professionals who are dedicated to ensuring the very best outcomes for all pupils helping equip them with the skills, knowledge, and resilience they need to move onto the next stages of their education.
The CTLC team is led by Victoria Howard and is made up of highly qualified teachers and support staff. All staff are appropriately trained and employ a broad range of skills and engagement techniques to help children and young people recognise and celebrate their strengths, overcome their difficulties, cope with their medical/mental health conditions, and re-engage with life-long learning.
Our learning environment fosters independence and our curriculum is tailored to meet the needs of each individual pupil.
All pupils receive a personalised education programme, and have an individual learning plan to support their learning and medical/mental health needs. Reviews are held with parents/carers and pupils, home school staff and multi-professional colleagues every 6 weeks to review the learning plan and plan ahead.
Parents are not able to apply for their child to attend Cherry Tree. Referrals for our service are made by the pupil’s school and are supported by a medical practitioner.
