Outcomes

Analysis of GCSE Attainment

(cohort = 17)

  • 100% of pupils achieved 5 or more GCSEs.
  • 69% of all pupils achieved grades 4 and above in Core subjects (national average for Grades 4 and above is 67.4%)
  • 90% of pupils achieved Grade 4 and above in English Literature.
  • 59% of pupils achieved Grade 4 and above in Maths.
  • 59% of pupils achieved Grade 4 and above in Combined Science.
  • 58% of pupils achieved Grade 4 and above in English.

 

Performance of Groups

It is worth noting that the GL baseline predicted grade was taken for most Year 11 pupils in September 2023 prior to the national decision made to raise grade boundaries. This has a direct effect on the progress tracking over the 12 month period from baseline predicted grade to actual GCSE result. More pupils than expected received a lower grade than their GL predicted due to the raising of grade boundaries.

 

Analysis of Year 11 Progress Measures

(EHCP pupils = 5    PP pupils = 5)

  • 100% of EHCP pupils made more than or expected progress in Maths.
  • 100% of EHCP pupils made more than or expected progress in English Literature with 80% of EHCP pupils making more than or expected progress in English Language.
  • 40% of EHCP pupils made more than or expected progress in Science.
  • 60% of PP pupils made more than or expected progress in Maths.
  • 40% of PP pupils made more than or expected progress in Science and English.

 

Analysis of Year 10 Progress Measures

(cohort = 11)

  • 100% of Year 10 pupils made more than or expected progress in Maths of which 27% of these pupils made accelerated progress.
  • 82% of Year 10 pupils made more than or expected progress in Science of which 33% of these pupils made accelerated progress.
  • 80% of Year 10 pupils made more than or expected progress in English of which 38% of these pupils made accelerated progress.
  • 100% of Pupil Premium pupils made more than or expected progress across the core subjects.
  • 83% of pupils learning above the national average (identified from GL baseline) made more than or expected progress in Maths, English and Science.
  • 79% of pupils learning in line with the national average (identified from GL baseline) made more than or expected progress in Maths, English and Science.
  • 100% of pupils learning below the national average (identified from GL baseline) made more than or expected progress in Maths, English and Science.

 

Analysis of KS3 Progress Measures

(cohort = 15)

  • 93% of KS3 pupils made more than or expected progress in Maths of which 20% of these pupils made accelerated progress.
  • 92% of KS3 pupils made more than or expected progress in English of which 25% of these pupils made accelerated progress.
  • 93% of KS3 pupils made more than or expected progress in Science of which 13% of these pupils made accelerated progress.
  • 78% of Pupil Premium pupils made more than or expected progress across the core subjects.
  • 100% of pupils learning above the national average (identified from GL baseline) made more than or expected progress in Maths, English and Science.
  • 94% of pupils learning in line with the national average (identified from GL baseline) made more than or expected progress in Maths, English and Science 
  • 92% of pupils learning below the national average (identified from GL baseline) made more than or expected progress in Maths, English and Science.

 

Analysis of Accelerated Reader Progress Measures

 

  • The average progress for the pupils who followed the Accelerated Reader programme for a 6 month period was an increase in reading age of 1 year 11 months.
  • The average progress for pupils who were originally identified ‘at national benchmark’ and received 1:1 reading sessions during form time over a 6 month period had an increase of reading age of 2 years 2 months.
  • The average progress for pupils who were identified as ‘on watch’ and received 1:1 reading sessions during form time with additional 1:1 sessions delivered by an LSP over a 6 month period had an increase of reading age of 2 years.
  • Pupils who received 1:1 Phonic Intervention using Ruth Miskin ‘Fresh Start Phonics’ or ‘Read, Write, Ink’ made accelerated progress and reached fluency after a 12 week (1 term) intervention period with an average increase of reading age of 5 months.
  • 50% of pupils who followed the Accelerated Reader programme for 6 months became ‘Free Readers’, operating above the national benchmark.
