Our approach to teaching children with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities
Cherry Tree Learning Centre shares a vision of individuals who exceed expectations and enjoy education where excellence is at the centre of all we do. This vision includes all the children in our school with SEND.
Our SENDCo at Cherry Tree is Rachel Smith and she is responsible for any pupils who are educated through our school who have additional special educational needs and/or disabilities. She undertakes assessments, writes reports to inform education, health and care plans, and supports the access arrangements for external examinations, in association with our exams officer. We use her expertise to advise other teaching staff on interventions and strategies that they can use to ensure that all our pupils are enabled to meet their potential.
